What are the main benefits of a 60 min Yin Yoga session?
- Yin Yoga targets hard connective tissues in the body such as joints and joint capsules, bones and ligaments.In general, a Yin approach works to promote mobility and flexibility in areas often perceived as non-malleable, especially the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin Yoga helps circulate synovial fluid inside your joints in the areas that carry the most tension, especially as you age.
- Another beautiful aspect of Yin Yoga is that it calms down the Sympathetic Nervous System and activates your “rest and restore” – the Parasympathetic Nervous System! Therefore Yin Yoga helps with sleep, anxiety and gets the body ready for meditation.
Yin Yoga is also known to balance and regulate the flow of life force energy (also known as Chi or Prana) along what is known as the Fascia in Western medicine, Meridian lines in Traditional Chinese Medicine or along the Nadis and Chakras in Eastern Medicine.
